Act 20 in Wisconsin

Wisconsin's new Early Literacy Instruction legislation changes the literacy landscape across the state by requiring teachers and principals in K-3 schools and reading specialists across the state to receive science-based literacy training by July 1, 2025.

This professional learning opportunity must be training for educators that is approved by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction. AIM Pathways to Proficient Reading provides Wisconsin educators with the knowledge and skills needed to put the Science of Reading to work in their classrooms and fulfills the state's Act 20 requirement.

AIM Pathways courses:

  • Go deeper into classroom practice and specific instructional applications
  • Offer CERI credentialing for teachers and interventionists
  • Provide access to a wide range of reading experts across the field
  • Employ a blended approach including virtual coaching sessions
  • Created by educators for educators 
  • Program and curriculum agnostic
  • More cost effective and less time intensive
