Dyslexia: What Parents (and Educators) Need to Know
This two-hour interactive session is designed to help parents (and educators) understand firsthand the reading and writing challenges often experienced by students with dyslexia in their classroom. These students will not “catch up” without direct explicit interventions and evidence based supports. Educators need to know what to look for and how to differentiate instruction so they can support these students in a timely manner.
This session will provide an in depth exploration of dyslexia, covering:
• early warning signs and characteristics
• information on screening and assessment
• strategies for effective remediation and accommodation
Research-based dyslexia and literacy-related resources will be shared.
