Structured Literacy Facilitator

AIM Structured Literacy Facilitator 

The AIM Structured Literacy Facilitator is responsible for the delivery of virtual training and coaching to client participants of the AIM Pathways Structured Literacy Course and Practicum: The Orton-Gillingham Approach. This flexible per diem opportunity is perfect for retired educators, or those interested in a professional work from home position in the field of literacy instruction 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver virtual training and coaching to cohorts of client educators and school administrators in evidence-based literacy instruction using the AIM Pathways digital platform and other technology tools.

  • Mentor educators in the Orton-Gillingham methodology through the AIM Pathways Structured Literacy course and practicum

  • Facilitate virtual community of practice sessions for client educators which will serve to help participants deepen their knowledge of evidence-based early literacy teaching and learning through real-time scenarios, problem-solving, coaching, and discussions.

  • Maintain accurate records of all training and coaching interactions

  • Effectively communicate with all AIM Institute staff members regarding client engagement and problem-solve any potential issues

  • Effectively lead data-driven discussions with clients, including implementation meetings with leadership teams regarding cohort progress

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and staying current with the latest research in Literacy. They will also possess strong communication and organizational skills and an aptitude for technology. 

  • BS in Education or related field and 3+ years teacher experience is required

  • Strong background in research and evidence-based literacy instruction. 

  • Orton-Gillingham training required

  • Preferred Experience:

    • Trainer or Supervisor-Level Coaching credential 

    • Evidence of a minimum of three years’ practical experience, including evidence of two of the following as documented on the Transcript or Resume:

      • Intervention Experience: experience delivering KPS-aligned Structured Literacy™ interventions for students with remedial reading needs, including those with profiles characteristic of Dyslexia

      • Consulting Experience: experience consulting with schools/districts re: designing, implementing, and monitoring the provision of KPS-aligned Structured Literacy™ interventions for students with remedial reading needs, including those with profiles characteristic of Dyslexia

      • Supervision Experience: experience supervising teacher candidates in delivering KPS-aligned Structured Literacy™ interventions for students with remedial reading needs, including those with profiles characteristic of Dyslexia.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are required. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
