Literacy Subject Matter Expert for Content Development
Supervisor: Head of Research and Product
Purpose
This Literacy Subject Matter Expert is expected to function as a ‘translational scientist’ to research, prepare, create, edit and produce professional learning content, under the direction of the Head of Research and Product. Your ability to synthesize and disseminate complex information and research will be key to your success. This position provides an exciting opportunity for someone who loves to read, write, and think critically.
Key Responsibilities:

Research: Conduct thorough research to understand the subject matter, audience preferences, and current trends and apply that understanding to your deliverables

Translate Research into Practice for Content Development: Synthesize research and translate into high-quality content, including articles, infographics, videos, case studies, whitepapers, and other formats.

Apply Instructional Design Principles: Utilize proven instructional design methodologies and Adult Learning Theory to develop educational programs that enhance learner engagement and retention.

Strategic Consultation: Use knowledge from a variety of sources to identify and support needs and goals with solutions; design and deliver consulting services using a proactive, data-driven implementation blueprint

Adhere to Project Timelines: Ensure that all assigned tasks and projects are completed within the specified timeframes; ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, preventing delays and ensuring consistent progress.

Collaboration: Work with Implementation Strategy, Facilitation, Technology, Marketing and other teams to ensure content aligns with the overall vision, strategy, and goals.

Innovation: Generate fresh ideas, concepts, and solutions.

Continuous Learning/Skill Development: Continuously improve skills through training, workshops, and other educational opportunities..
Skills and Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Education or related field.

Experience: 5+ years of teaching experience are required; educational leadership experience a plus.

Specialized Knowledge: Subject matter expertise in structured literacy knowledge is required.

Research: Strong research skills to gather information on various topics, and evaluate sources for credibility and relevance.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello); experience with e-learning authoring through Articulate, iSpring, or related technology

Writing and Editing: Ability to write clear, engaging, and error-free content. Proficiency in editing and proofreading.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
