Jr. Sales Development Representative

Jr. Sales Development Representative

 

Position Overview:

AIM Institute for Learning & Research is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Jr. Sales Development Representative with a passion for education and the Science of Reading. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in sales prospecting, lead qualification, cold calling, lead generation, and onsite events. This individual will join a dynamic team and be pivotal in generating new business opportunities by identifying, contacting, and qualifying leads from various marketing and sales campaigns.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify, contact, and qualify leads via cold calling, emails, and social media based on inbound and outbound marketing and sales campaigns and events.
  • Develop a deep understanding of AIM Institute for Learning and Research professional learning courses to effectively communicate the value to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to refine messaging and sales enablement strategies.
  • Conduct needs analysis with prospects and qualify leads to determine sales potential.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective clients in CRM software, tracking all communications and engagement.
  • Schedule and conduct sales presentations and hand off qualified leads to the sales team consultants for further nurturing.
  • Support upsell opportunities in existing accounts with our Relationship Manager Specialist(s).

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales development, business development, or inside/outside sales roles, preferably in education technology
  • Proven track record of successful cold calling, lead generation, lead qualification converting to ideal profile clients
  • Experience in working with educational buyers (state departments, school administrators, district leaders, etc.), preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices is highly desirable
  • Prior experience in EdTech sales or selling to K-12 schools, districts, or educational institutions
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and other sales enablement and communication tools (e.g. Slack)

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different buyer personas (socially connected, concise/direct, relational, and data-driven buyers).
  • Exceptional cold calling skills and the ability to handle objections.
  • Confident, personable, and adept at building relationships quickly.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple leads simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and strong work ethic.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address client needs.
  • Ability to analyze data and use it to drive high yield sales actions as a next step.
