AIM Integrated Literacy Facilitator - Contract-Based Consultant
Are you passionate about ensuring all students have access to evidence-based reading instruction aligned to the science of reading? AIM Institute for Learning and Research is dedicated to providing educational excellence and professional development to disseminate best practices to educators by providing access to the latest research-based curriculum, technology, and training through our AIM Pathways.
The AIM Integrated Literacy Facilitator is responsible for delivering virtual training and coaching to client participants of the AIM Pathways digital platform. Some in-person professional development facilitation may also be offered. Join our team and be part of the AIM Institute for Learning and Research community.
This contract opportunity is a remote, contract-based position with optional travel opportunities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver virtual training and coaching to cohorts of client educators and school administrators in evidence-based literacy instruction using the AIM Pathways digital platform and other technology tools.
- Facilitate virtual community of practice sessions for client educators, which will help participants deepen their knowledge of evidence-based early literacy teaching and learning through real-time scenarios, problem-solving, coaching, and sharing experiences across the membership.
- Maintaining accurate records of all training and coaching interactions.
Additional preferred responsibilities include:
- Ability to travel, as needed, for in-person professional development facilitation opportunities.
- Flexibility in scheduling for virtual communities of practice, mainly after school hours from 3:00-5:00 pm.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in the field of science of reading.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and staying current with the latest research in Literacy. They will also possess strong communication and organizational skills and an aptitude for technology.
- BS in Education or related field and 3+ years of teaching experience are required;
- Strong background in research and evidence-based literacy instruction;
- Participation in LETRS, Wilson or Orton-Gillingham training, other research-based programs, or related programs of study, including a master's or doctorate in the field of Education and reading;
- Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are required;
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and facilitation techniques for engagement;
- Prior experience with facilitating professional development with adults;
- Knowledge of Zoom platform;
- Growth Mindset;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
