AIM Institute for Learning & Research

Head of AIM Institute for Learning & Research

Company Overview:

Join our entrepreneurial team at the AIM Institute for Learning & Research, a pioneer in literacy education. We are dedicated to revolutionizing how research gets to practice in our world’s educational ecosystem. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for transforming lives through literacy, we are poised for significant expansion and are seeking a visionary leader for our Head of the AIM Institute for Learning & Research. This leader will drive the strategy, development, and execution of our vision and mission with the goal of driving systemic change in our approach to literacy and as a result help us to change the lives of children throughout the world.

Position Overview:

As the Head of the AIM Institute for Learning & Research, you will need to be a pioneer, working fearlessly to reimagine education for all children. You will have a unique opportunity to work side-by-side with AIM’s Co-Founders and report to AIM’s CEO to develop and execute an exciting strategic vision for AIM that will continually evolve to enhance the translation of research into our nation’s schools. The pace of this translation has historically been too slow, but AIM has built a gold standard reputation for fidelity to the research and active implementation of that research into practice.  You will be working hand in hand with AIM experts and noted researchers, including those on AIM’s Research Advisory Board, to put the research of structured literacy, neuroscience, and implementation science into a scalable process. This position is part of AIM’s Executive Cabinet working directly with AIM’s CFO, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Head of AIM Academy, and Director of Development. You will work with AIM’s nationally recognized school, AIM Academy, and the Head of Implementation Strategy to help codify their tools and practices to support AIM’s Integrated Literacy Model where literacy is taught “all day long” and represents a full range of Pre-K to 12 supports as well as Future Ready College and Career opportunities. You will work with the Head of Product Development in tandem with the Head of Technology as new content, products, and technology solutions are brought to market. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s trajectory through the development of partnerships, policy connections at the state and district levels, thought leadership opportunities, and client relationships in collaboration with AIM’s Head of Growth and Impact, Head of Partnerships and RFPs, and the division of Client Success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure and nurture relationships with new clients, state departments of education, and superintendents of leading school districts in the country working closely with the Head of Growth and Impact and the Head of Partnerships and RFPs. This responsibility includes leveraging current relationships and working side by side with AIM’s Co-Founders who serve as AIM’s chief visionaries to continue the 18 years of long-standing relationships that have been developed by these fearless women.

  • Continue relationships with leading researchers and university research partners in collaboration with the Head of Product Development, Head of Technology, and the division of Client Success; support AIM’s world-class team of facilitators and coaches to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness.

  • Engage actively in providing thought leadership to the market; activities will include conference papers, industry publications, and speaking engagements.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team with the CEO, Co-Founders, Division Heads of the Institute, and overall AIM leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Passion for life-long learning, and a creative and innovative mind-set for continuous improvement and future development of what is possible.
