Opportunity

The Client Engagement Specialist is an integral member of the AIM family. This position advances the AIM Institute for Learning and Research mission to ensure all students and teachers have access to evidence-based literacy instruction through leading work across the country to help increase awareness of why reading matters for student success. 

The Client Engagement Specialist is responsible for accelerating growth in revenue of the AIM Pathways products and services through new business development. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience in public education in order to provide a more consultative sales approach to  working with the administrative leadership of client organizations. This position provides an exciting opportunity for someone who brings expertise and enthusiasm in building partnerships and wants to contribute to the success of a growing organization. 

The Client Engagement Specialist will work closely with prospective and current partners in the field, such as state departments of education, district and building leaders, teachers, coaches, and nonprofits, to expand our work. They will provide guidance using literacy expertise and data to support AIM Pathways, the science of reading, and evidence-based instruction. This position will allow a highly motivated person to apply their expertise to impact the course of education across the nation positively. A growth mindset is essential. 

Reports to Senior Director of National Client Engagement

Responsibilities include the following*:

Business Development & Growth (approximately 75 to 80%)

  • Develop sales leads, promote products and services, respond to inquiries,  secure accounts, and assist with onboarding clients to exceed sales goals. 

  • Customize and conduct platform demonstrations and webinars for AIM Pathways  courses and products based upon customer profiles. 

  • Collaborate with team members to create marketing campaigns and materials. 

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and assist with client  management. 

  • Research a client’s local context and legislation to provide guidance for Pathways implementation 

  • Develop a full understanding of all AIM Pathways courses

  • Promote AIM Pathways courses, products, and services through a variety of  channels, including but not limited to social media, webinars, and conferences. 

  • Organize and categorize sales lead information into Salesforce. Create strategies  and processes for the optimal use of Salesforce. 

  • Provide regular reports to management on sales metrics, opportunities, and  challenges. 

  • Annual Sales Goals, including, but not limited to Revenue Goals, Client  Retention, New Customers, State RFPs, and Partnerships will be determined on  a yearly basis with supervisor and serve as annual goal statements. 

  • Partner with internal departments to ensure clients have a successful launch of AIM Pathways courses. 

Communication (approximately 10%)

  • Submit and deliver Presentations/Proposals for speaking at regional, national, and international conferences dedicated to literacy and related topics. Design and deliver specialized webinars, podcasts, and interviews on the topic of literacy research and implementation.

  • Effectively communicate with all necessary AIM Institute internal staff regarding client engagement and problem-solving potential issues. 

  • Will be responsible for the timely and accurate communication of all meeting notes to Senior Leadership, and the client.

  • Will promptly inform on any outstanding issues with clients and will actively collaborate to resolve or improve.   

Travel (approximately 10% to 15%)  

  • National travel will occur related to organizational needs, client needs, and for professional learning, as needed. The amount of travel will be monitored to ensure it is appropriate for both the organization and the Senior Director of National Client Engagement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable passion for the AIM Institute for Learning and Research mission, vision, and core values and commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Professional experience managing systems, project logistics, and improving organizational processes.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a virtual, remote environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and partners across geographies and time zones.

  • Willingness to work alongside a dynamic, highly collaborative, and mission-driven team.

  • Master’s or Doctorate in education and 10+ years in education (administrative experience in the school setting is a plus)

  • Strong background in research and evidence-based literacy instruction. 

  • Experience as an instructional leader in the school setting is a plus

  • Experience in data analysis reporting and needs assessment analysis 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are required.

  • Knowledge of social media platforms a plus 

  • Experience with the implementation of evidence-based literacy instruction. 

  • An ability to successfully navigate ambiguity, maintain flexibility, work independently, and collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders in a virtual work environment.

  • Exceptional written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluent in online platforms (Google Suite and Zoom required; Salesforce, Smartsheets, and Absorb LMS systems, preferred).
