Let WI Reads & AIM Support Your Act 20 Journey

AIM is excited to partner with WI Reads to provide opportunities for Wisconsin educators and leaders to fulfill their Act 20 requirements in discounted Pathways to Proficient Reading and Pathways to Literacy Leadership courses created specifically for Wisconsin educators.

Pathways to Proficient Reading

WI Reads is offering two cohorts of AIM's IDA-accredited foundational course in the science of reading. One course (beginning in February 2024) for elementary educators and one course (beginning in April 2024) for higher education individuals seeking to fulfill their Act 20 requirements..

Pathways Proficient Reading meets Act 20 requirements and is designed for educators committed to learning about the connection between reading research, theoretical models such as the Simple View of Reading and Scarborough’s Reading Rope, and best practices for language and literacy instruction in the classroom.

Course Details:

  • Asynchronous Orientation and Pre-Course Knowledge Inventory Assessment
  • 17 Section Pathways to Proficient Reading Course (Click for Detailed Syllabus)
  • 6 live Virtual Community of Practice Sessions (VCoPs)
  • Pacing Guide offering recommended schedule for coursework completion
  • 12 Month Access to the AIM Pathways platform to access, review, and apply materials in the classroom when needed
  • Aligned to the IDA's Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading
  • 55 hours available for CEUs

Pathways to Literacy Leadership

WI Reads is offering one course (beginning in February 2024) of AIM's Pathways to Literacy Leadership, which meets the Act 20 requirements for leader training, to Wisconsin school leaders, reading specialists and school psychologists.

Pathways to Literacy Leadership helps school leaders for PK-3 principals, reading specialists, and school psychologists advance literacy evidence-based instruction into all classrooms. This course is appropriate for Superintendents,  Assistant Superintendents, Principals, Directors of Special Education and Student Services, and Directors of Curriculum and Instruction and is approved training to meet Act 20 requirements for leaders.

Course Details:

  • Asynchronous Orientation and Pre-Course Knowledge Inventory
  • 10-Section Pathways to Literacy Leadership Course (Click for Detailed Syllabus)
  • 4 live Virtual Community of Practice (VCoP) Sessions with an AIM facilitator
  • Pacing Guide offering recommended schedule for coursework completion
  • Time needed to dedicate to course - Approximately 30 hours total
  • 12 Months Access to the AIM Pathways platform to access, review, and apply materials in the classroom when needed
  • Aligned to the IDA's Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading
  • 50 hours of PA Act 45 credits for Pennsylvania Education Administrators with completion of a Literacy Plan
  • 30 hours available for CEUs
